It is 10 years since I last came to Budapest and I had forgotten just how beautiful a city it is. The Kempinski is very close to the Danube and the rest day turns out to be 86′ and sunny. Cafes and bars line the squares and promenades and along the river, separated from the water by an elevated tramway protected by wrought iron railings. Across the water Buda Castle looks down and just along the bank the Hungarian Parliament and the Museum of Ethnography lie either side of Kossuth ter.
