Changing the wheels around.. and the car wash had a busy day today as half the car park is clean and shiny. Another rest day and not enough exploration of the location – Kazan, the Tatar capital where the Volga and Kazanka Rivers meet, a world heritage site in the Kazan Kremlin and the Sports Capital of Russia – and coming in to the city the only thing I knew was that I had watched Chelsea vs Rubin Kazan a couple of years ago in the Champions League with my son, Jake (Chelsea won 3-1). No excuses – more pre-planning of the stopover cities was required.
The Rolls rejoins after a marathon catch up – the fire that had apparently razed the Rolls to the ground seemingly not as bad as as reported around the campsite in Mongolia.
The cars still provide a mobile attraction as we progress through Russia. We set off tomorrow for Nizhny Novgorod and three more full days in Russia before we approach the Belorussian border. Apparently the most difficult of the border crossings – well until we get to Belarus – Poland.
